Photography has been a passion of mine for about as long as I can remember. It started when my mom gave me a Kodak Instamatic camera when I started college. I literally wore it out. Later when I was in the Army I purchased a 35mm Konica from a soldier returning from Viet Nam in need of some drinking money. I begin to get pretty serious about it then and later found myself doing an occasional wedding, and found that people were asking me to take pics for them for various occasions. Then a local Hooters ask me to shoot their bikini contests and golf outings and other events. I was having tons of fun and every now and then even getting paid for it :) By this time I was well into a career as a systems engineer and I also had other interests besides photography. I got my pilots licence, I loved to fish and hunt, I had a boat and loved the water and anything to do with the out of doors became interested in sailing. LOL, I was spread way too thin! Well in 2001 I retired, have given up flying and hunting and cut way back on boating. But alas! I have more time to capture images. Well a little more anyway. Did I mention I also co-founded a record label since retiring? :) maybe I'm still stretching it a bit. Anyway it still amazes me that you can freeze a moment of time or life and save it forever just by pushing a shutter button.
