The photographer's main goal at the Ujena Jam is to take quality images. For models, to have quality images taken by the photographer. We have set up photo tours during the Jam to help provide quality locations. Of course, photographers and models can find their own locations too.

Half the winners will be selected (details below*) in Cabo. Our live event is held at a five-star hotel. The second part of the competition is online. The best images taken in Cabo will be posted on Ujena Network in the Best Shot Challenge (details below**) contest. Participants have ten days to post their best images. This will give contestants enough time to edit their images.

At the awards dinner Ujena will be selecting up to six models and four photographers who will be invited to be on staff at Ujena Jam Cancun 2013, all expenses paid for the four night program. From the top selected models and photographers, one model and photographer will be selected as the overall winning UjENA Jam model and photographer, who shall receive an all-expense paid trip to UjENA Jam Cancun (5 Night Program). To be selected as a top winning model and photographer, the contestant must not have worked with UjENA more than two years total.

Ujena Jam Competing Photographers and models - All photos must be taken during the nine day program in and around San Jose del Cabo. Images submitted for judging need to be full size. Photoshop is allowed to improve quality but don't add borders or use special effects. All images must be posted within 10 days after the Jam. The deadline to submit will be noon (Pacific time) Thursday November 8th. The winners will be announced on Ujena Network Tuesday November 20th after noon (Pacific time). Details on how this contest works is below.

Three unique images can be entered into each category. Photographers must give all models you photograph at least ten full size images by November 6. (If a model does not get images by this date, it must be reported to Ujena by noon (PST) November 7. The photographer will have 24 hours to get images to the model. (Models are making their time available for photographers at no cost and this is what the model gets back in return.)

If a photographer does not upload images to their account by the November 8th deadline this can be grounds for forfeiting their winnings at the live event.

Ujena Jam Cabo Competing Photographers

The Five Ujena Jam categories are:

1. Ujena Bikini Best Shot Challenge - your Ujena Jam model must be wearing a Ujena Bikini. Each of your three images submitted must be a different model and bikini.
2. Fashion and Glamour Best Shot Challenge - your Ujena Jam model should be wearing something other than a Ujena swimsuit. Make sure nothing is submitted that is beyond PG-15. Your model does not have to be wearing Ujena fashion. (No other brand of swimwear can be worn or photographed at the Ujena Jam.)
3. Outdoor Photography Best Shot Challenge - these images should not include a model unless she is just a prop. The focus is the outdoors.
4. Sport Photography Best Shot Challenge - these are real images covering the many different sports that will be taking place in the around the Ujena Jam including the fishing tournament, 10k and 5k runs, volleyball, swimming, and golf. The focus is the sport and the person doing it.
5. Ujena Jam Editorial Best Shot Challenge - these are images behind the scenes at all the different events that will be happening in and around the Ujena Jam. The focus is the Ujena Jam.

Ujena Jam Cabo Competing Models

The overall model winner must submit three images in both categories.

If a model does not upload images to their account by the November 8th deadline this can be grounds for forfeiting their winnings at the live event.

The Two Ujena Jam categories are:

1. Ujena Bikini Best Shot Model Challenge - you must be wearing a Ujena Bikini. Each of your three images submitted must be a different Ujena bikini. The focus is the Ujena bikini.

How will the Ujena Jam Best Shot Challenge contest work?

The look and feel of this contest will be similar to the online Best Shot Challenge. On the deadline of November 8th (noon PST) voting will start. Members will be given 10 points (only one vote per day per person per image) and non members will be given 1 point. Voting will continue until noon (PST) Tuesday November 15th.

There will be four image winners per category. Two will be based upon the most number of votes received and two will be selected by the Ujena Jam judges. (The same photographer or model can be selected more than once.) All four winning images will receive additional exposure and $50 Ujena Dollars. A total of $1400 Ujena Dollars will be awarded to the person who posted the image. An overall model and photographer winner will be selected by the judges.

There are some requirements that must be accomplished before images can be submitted for voting.

Requirements for models and photographers

1. All models and photographers must participate in at least two Photo tours during the Jam.
2. All models and photographers must complete the 5k run/walk OR 10k
3. All photographers must submit full size jpeg images to models they photographed by November 7.
4. All models and photographers must participate in the Final Shoot Out.
5. All competing models must shot with at least one Ujena staff photographer during event.
6. All competing photographers must shot with at least one Ujena staff model during event.

Requirements for images submitted

All Images must meet the minimum quality standard to be entered for voting and judging. These standards include: not unique, out of focus, bad lighting, beyond PG-15, wrong category, and not taken at Jam. Images need to be either vertical or horizontal in format and full size.

Ujena Jam Cabo Competing Photographers All photographers who meet all the requirements, submitted at least three images in three or more categories and placed in the top six will be considered. The Ujena Jam judges will select the winner from this group based on the following criteria.

1. Overall quality of Best Shot images submitted including creativity, lighting, and direction. (No staff models can be submitted. Those can be submitted in the ongoing Online Best Shot Bikini Challenge.)
2. Images taken during the Final Shoot Out at Jam
3. Ujena Jam spirit

The winning photographer will be invited to be on staff (all expenses paid) for the next Ujena Jam for four nights. (If the photographer was already selected at the awards dinner, this would be an additional Ujena Jam staff trip.)
